I have been working in the mining industry now for over 11 years with an extensive background in residential construction.
In 2001 I decided to become a MSHA safety trainer and qualified in Albuquerque, New Mexico under the Educational Field Services unit of MSHA. I qualified for Part 48 Surface Training. This means if you are in the United States of America and you are a surface operation operating under Part 48 I am qualified to legally train your miners and administrative personnel.
Using this Internet website I plan to bring forth the information safety managers nationwide need to keep their charges alive and well. I will be covering all of the 30CFR that relates to mining and fielding questions from you, covering recent Fatalgrams and best practices you should be implementing into your own safety program.
DISCLAIMER: I am not MSHA nor am I a MSHA inspector. I have NOT been through the academy. If you find the information I present on this website is not current or is just plain wrong please let me know so I can fix it. I do not want to give information or advice here that could possibly put a miner in danger. If you see my post as dangerous information in any way it is your duty to alert me of this as a miner and as a safety conscious individual. I will obviously not post any information(s) I know to be wrong but stuff happens and none of us are perfect.
I look forward to cooperating in our discussions and hope I can help you make your facility the safest it can be.
